Excessive weight gain in pregnancy can cause serious complications, but can be prevented with simple lifestyle modification.
It is important to have postpartum evaluation for you gestational diabetes because in approximately 5-10% of cases, the abnormal glucose levels persist. Moreover, you have an increased risk for developing type 2 diabetes later in life. Therefore monitoring your blood glucose levels is more than recommended, it’s mandatory.
