What is Botox®?
Botox® Cosmetic is a purified protein injected into the skin which relaxes muscles that cause fine lines and wrinkles on the face. Botox Cosmetic has many purposes beyond cosmetics. Botox is also used to treat certain medical conditions, like excessive sweating. Of course, Botox is used primarily among patients to reduce wrinkles on the face and neck.
Is Botox® painful?
Botox Cosmetic injections are virtually painless. We use a smaller needle than those used for alternative injectable dermal fillers. The procedure can be performed in minutes, and no anesthetic is necessary. Some bruising, temporary redness or headaches can occur in some patients.
